2005 - 2006
New England Zebrafish Husbandry Association (NEZHA) is formed. Claudia Harper is elected as the President.
2007 - 2008
Christian Lawrence is elected President. Name officially changed to Zebrafish Husbandry Association (ZHA). Working groups are established to evaluate methods on spawning and reproduction of zebrafish.
2009

ZHA becomes an affiliate organization of the World Aquaculture Society (WAS)
2010

ZHA becomes an affiliate organization of the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS). Membership dues begin to be collected. ZHA's first annual meeting is held at the WAS conference. The first peer reviewed session is held at the Husbandry Workshop of the WAS conference. Membership reached to 100.

ZHA increases its presence at meetings and conferences such as Asilomar, Turnkey, BioConference Live, and Regional AALAS.

ZHA launches its new website and LinkedIn page. A semi-annual webinar series and newsletter is established. Membership doubles from previous year.
ZHA presents its inaugural Outstanding Steward of Zebrafish Award to Mark Francis.
2015

ZHA gets new booth and advertising materials. New membership management software is purchased, membership is now over 250 individuals. Website content is expanded to including webinar videos, slides, protocol database, etc. First photo contest is won by Dan Castranova. ZHA hosts a seminar at the national AALAS meeting titled "Zebrafish Husbandry and Veterinary Care: Multiple Perspectives". For the first time ZHA attends the Canadian Association for Laboratory Animal Science (CALAS) meeting and Zebrafish Disease Models Conference (ZDM8).
ZHA presents its Outstanding Steward of Zebrafish Award to Christian Lawrence.

ZHA listserv is launched, and soon became a key tool for ZHA members sharing questions and thoughts on any subject related to zebrafish husbandry.

During sars-coV-2 pandemic, ZHA community shared emergency plans and experiences, helping each other as possible. ZHA supported the implementation of the "Friday Zoom Talks", hosted by Chistian Lawrence as an iniciative to bring the zebrafish community together in such difficult times.
