Firstly, I would like to express my gratitude to the Zebrafish Husbandry Association for the chance to further my knowledge in Zebrafish management and husbandry. The zebrafish program in our facility was started last year in March 2022, and the ZHA has provided great resources and connections that have furthered the success of our program.
I registered for the OVPRED 500-Zebrafish Husbandry Education online course at University of Alabama in Birmingham developed and peer-reviewed by the Zebrafish Husbandry Association. I enjoyed the break down and detail of the course especially implementing what I learned to our facility and being able to educate my colleagues when questions arise. As a student, and full-time employee, the pace and workload of the course was perfect. My favorite part of the course was the breakdown of the water quality parameters and how they are all tied together when working with zebrafish, especially when it comes to their well-being. Participating in the case-studies were interactive, fun, and relatable. I feel much more confident managing zebrafish husbandry after the course. Danio Friday’s have been an excellent resource as well, I look forward to them! Thank you so much for the opportunity to express my gratitude and experience.
